MC-Bauchemie MC-Fastpack EP solid
MC-Bauchemie’s cartridge-applied epoxy adhesive for anchor bonding, packer fixing and crack sealing on Delhi NCR and Pan-India repair sites.
What is it?
A ready-to-use, two-component epoxy-based structural adhesive supplied in a double-chamber cartridge. Components A and B mix only inside a disposable static mixer at the point of application – no manual batching or weighing on site.
Where is it used?
Basement and water-retaining structure crack repairs ahead of injection, anchor bolt and dowel fixing into concrete or steel, packer bonding for crack injection, borehole and cavity filling, and pipe-liner-to-manhole sealing across Delhi NCR and pan-India repair sites.
Why use it?
It sets fast on damp substrates and at low temperatures, gains high compressive and tensile strength within hours, and grips concrete, steel and ceramic without a separate primer – useful where curing windows are tight and substrates are rarely bone-dry.
How is it applied?
Loaded into a 2:1 cartridge dispensing gun (MC-Bauchemie’s MC-Fastpack Power-Tool or equivalent), the two components pass through a static mixer and emerge pre-mixed, ready to trowel onto a surface, work into a borehole, or press into a crack to seat an injection packer.
About MC-Bauchemie MC-Fastpack EP solid
MC-Fastpack EP solid solves a problem every crack-injection and structural-repair crew in India knows: mixing small quantities of epoxy adhesive accurately on site without wasting half a kit on a job that only needs 150 ml. The two components sit in a 400 ml double-chamber cartridge at a fixed 2:1 volume ratio and combine only as they are pushed through a disposable static mixer into a hand-held gun. What comes out is a thixotropic grey paste, stable up to roughly 10-15 mm thickness, that can be trowelled onto a bonding surface, worked into a borehole, or pressed into a crack to seat an injection packer – all within a seven-minute working window.
That convenience is also a quality-control device. Because the ratio is fixed inside the cartridge, there is no room for a site labourer to eyeball a scoop of hardener and get it wrong – one of the more common causes of epoxy bond failure on Indian sites. For applicators working basement waterproofing retrofits, sewer rehabilitation, precast anchor fixing and general RCC repair, it fills a specific gap: a portable, no-mess epoxy that goes into a toolbox for a two-cartridge anchor job without opening a full 1 kg or 4 kg kit that then gets discarded past its pot life.
The technical insight
This is a solvent-free, filled epoxy system rather than a low-viscosity injection resin – the mixed viscosity of roughly 80 Pa·s (against roughly 100 Pa·s for component A and 35 Pa·s for component B individually) gives it the thixotropic, non-sagging behaviour needed to hold shape on a vertical crack face or inside an overhead borehole instead of running out before it cures. Its E-modulus of approximately 5,800 N/mm² sits well above typical concrete, which is why tensile pull-off tests on concrete substrates are specified to fail in the concrete itself (≥2.5 N/mm², cohesive failure) rather than at the epoxy bond line – the adhesive is engineered to never be the weak link. On grit-blasted steel, tensile bond strength climbs from roughly 10 N/mm² at 4 hours to roughly 20 N/mm² at 24 hours, which is the basis for MC-Bauchemie’s guidance on early load application for anchors and mounting plates.
Where it is used
- Force-fit bonding of injection packers (e.g. MC-Surfacepacker LP) ahead of crack injection
- Damming and sealing crack surfaces before injecting the crack interior with a separate resin
- Direct closing of wide cracks and kerfs that don’t need low-viscosity injection
- Bonding and grouting anchor bolts, dowels, rebar stubs and steel mounting parts into concrete
- Filling and levelling drill holes, pores, blowholes and small cavities as an epoxy filler
- Small-scale spot repairs to epoxy coatings and linings
- Permanently sealing pipe-liner-to-manhole connections in sewer rehabilitation
- Structural bonding between concrete, steel and ceramic components on precast and MEP fixing work
Key advantages
- Fixed 2:1 cartridge ratio removes on-site mixing error, the single biggest cause of epoxy bond failure
- Thixotropic paste stays put on vertical and overhead surfaces instead of sagging out of a crack or hole
- Rapid early strength gain (steel bond already around 10 N/mm² at 4 hours) speeds up anchor and packer schedules
- Bonds to dry and damp mineral, metallic and ceramic surfaces without a separate primer step
- Usable down to 2°C substrate temperature, useful on North India’s cold winter mornings
- No mixing tools, weighing scale or waste pot needed – cartridge and gun is the entire kit
- High chemical resistance to acids and alkalis suits sewer, effluent and industrial repair work
- Opened cartridges can be re-capped and reused within about 7 days, cutting wastage on small jobs
Limitations & considerations
- Not an injection resin in its own right – it seals and dams cracks or bonds packers, it does not penetrate fine hairline cracks the way a low-viscosity MC-Fastpack grade does
- Requires a 2:1 cartridge dispensing gun; not economical to hand-mix at this 400 ml pack size
- The roughly 7-minute working time shortens quickly in Indian summer site conditions
- Grey colour will show on exposed cosmetic surfaces, so it is not intended as a finish coat
- 400 ml cartridges make it a poor economic choice for large-volume anchor or grouting programmes
- Must never be cleaned with water – only MC-Verdünnung EP or a compatible solvent-based cleaner should touch tools
Selection & best practice
Keep cartridges within the 10-25°C storage band and, on hot Delhi NCR afternoons, keep them shaded or cooled right up to use – a warm cartridge shortens the already short 7-minute working time. Always purge a short bead through a fresh static mixer before real work to confirm even blending, and never restart a job with a mixer that has sat idle past its working time; fit a new one instead. On damp substrates, wipe off standing water first – “damp to matt” is acceptable, ponded water is not. For anchor and dowel work, fill boreholes from the back forward with the extended mixing tip to avoid trapped air pockets that show up later as a weak, spongy fixing.

How we position MC-Bauchemie MC-Fastpack EP solid
MC-Fastpack EP solid sits inside MC-Bauchemie’s wider MC-Fastpack cartridge system, alongside lower-viscosity EP and PU injection grades for fine cracks, the MC-Surfacepacker LP packers it is used to bond, and the shared MC-Fastpack Power-Tool dispensing gun – a crack-injection job typically draws on two or three products from this range together rather than this one in isolation. For broader structural and crack repair, it complements MC-Bauchemie’s MC-Nafufill repair mortar range already carried by Space Arc. On the competitive side, no single Fosroc product matches its cartridge-paste format directly: Fosroc’s Nitobond EP is the closer chemistry match but is a liquid, brush-applied bonding agent for large-area fresh-to-old concrete work, while Fosroc’s Lokfix is a polyester (not epoxy) anchoring grout built for heavy structural anchor and rebar loads. A specifier would reach for Nitobond EP when bonding overlays or toppings, Lokfix for heavy-duty deep anchors, and MC-Fastpack EP solid specifically where speed, small quantities and no-mix reliability on site matter more than pack economics.
