Lokfix E45T is a two-component polyester resin chemical anchoring system from Fosroc for anchoring reinforcing bars, threaded rods, and studs into existing concrete and masonry structures. Chemical anchor systems work by filling the annular space between the drilled hole and the anchor bar with a reactive resin that cures to provide a high-strength bond between the anchor and the surrounding substrate — a fundamentally different load transfer mechanism from mechanical expansion anchors that rely on friction or outward expansion forces. The polyester resin system of Lokfix E45T is suitable for a wide range of general construction anchoring applications: connecting new concrete to existing concrete via starter bars (dowel bars), installing holding-down bolts for equipment and structural steelwork, fixing handrails, brackets, and support systems, and anchoring structural retrofit strengthening elements. Lokfix E45T is supplied as a dual-component cartridge system with a static mixing nozzle — mixing occurs automatically in the nozzle as the cartridge is dispensed, eliminating the need for separate mixing and ensuring correct proportioning of resin to hardener. The system is suitable for use in dry and wet concrete, with a range of anchorage depths and anchor diameters covered by the product data sheet and approval documentation. For applications in cracked concrete, seismic zones, or very high-load requirements, the epoxy-based Lokfix E77 or E55S should be considered.
