Product Overview

Sika® Rustop is a cement-bound, synthetic-resin-modified two-component coating that protects reinforcement and concrete from corrosion. Applied over steel, it forms an impervious anti-corrosive layer that blocks the ingress of water, chlorides and carbon dioxide, and it contains corrosion inhibitors for added protection. Because the system is cementitious, it bonds strongly to steel, concrete and mortar and provides a sound key for subsequently placed concrete or repair mortars. It is ideal for reinforcement with insufficient cover or in thin sections, for embedded steel in structures being rehabilitated, and for protecting concrete against calcium chlorides and de-icing salts. Repair contractors and structural engineers across India use it as a dependable rebar primer. Space Arc Engineering, an authorized Sika distributor, supplies it in pre-batched 1.25 kg sets. It mixes 1:4 by weight and accepts concreting after 24 hours.
