UltraTech Tilefixo Ultima White
A deformable, polymer-modified white cement tile adhesive built for vitrified, marble, glass and natural stone where thermal movement or vibration would crack an ordinary grey fix.
What is it?
A polymer-modified, white cement-based tile adhesive from UltraTech’s Tilefixo range, marketed by UltraTech itself as a deformable tile adhesive — engineered to flex with the substrate rather than transmit movement stress straight into the tile bond.
Where is it used?
Light-coloured and translucent tiles — vitrified, porcelain, ceramic, marble, granite and natural stone — on interior and exterior walls and floors, including external wall cladding, tile-on-tile relaying over existing floors, terraces and vibration-prone substrates.
Why use it?
Its gel-type, flexible consistency clings to vertical surfaces without slumping, its extended open time gives tilers a workable window through Delhi NCR’s hot summers, and being white it won’t shadow through or discolour light or translucent stone the way a grey adhesive can.
How is it applied?
Mixed with clean water to a lump-free paste, rested for a short slake time, combed onto the substrate with a notched trowel sized to the tile format, back-buttered for large or natural-stone pieces, then the tile is beaten in firmly within the adhesive’s open time.
About UltraTech Tilefixo Ultima White
Tilefixo Ultima White sits toward the flexible end of UltraTech’s tile-fixing range — a white, polymer-modified cement adhesive that UltraTech itself classifies as a deformable tile adhesive, meant for jobs where an ordinary rigid-set adhesive would eventually crack: external wall cladding, tile-on-tile relaying over old flooring, and substrates that see genuine movement from thermal cycling, vibration or minor structural flex. The white base matters as much as the flexibility — it’s formulated so it won’t grey out or shadow through light-coloured and translucent stone, glass mosaic or thin porcelain the way a standard grey adhesive can, which is exactly where most tile-adhesion complaints on premium finishes originate.
For a Delhi NCR site, that combination is practical rather than cosmetic. Terrace and façade tiling here goes through wide day-night and seasonal temperature swings, RCC slabs keep shrinking and creeping for months after casting, and a large share of the white-marble, vitrified and glass-mosaic work we see specified simply won’t forgive a grey-adhesive shadow line at the grout edge. Tilefixo Ultima White is positioned for that middle ground: not a basic ceramic-floor fix, and not the ultra-premium large-format/glass-mosaic grade (that role goes to Tilefixo’s X’TRAPLUS White), but the deformable, weather-resistant workhorse for cladding, terraces and vibration-prone walls.
The technical insight
‘Deformable’ isn’t marketing flourish here — it’s a defined tile-adhesive performance category, the same S-class deformability idea used in Indian (IS 15477) and international tile-adhesive standards, which measures how much a cured adhesive bed can flex before the tile-to-substrate bond fails. UltraTech builds that into Tilefixo Ultima White by dosing a white cement/graded-sand base with re-dispersible polymers that keep the cured film elastic rather than glass-hard, so thermal cycling, minor structural movement or slab shrinkage get absorbed instead of cracking the tile joint. The same polymer package gives the wet mix its gel-like, thixotropic body — it grips a notched trowel on a vertical wall without sliding down, yet still wets out the tile back when beaten in — and slows surface skinning, which is what gives the adhesive its ‘extended open time’ on hot, dry sites.
Where it is used
- External wall cladding with vitrified, porcelain or stone tiles
- Tile-on-tile relaying over existing sound flooring without demolition
- Terrace and podium tiling exposed to sun, rain and thermal cycling
- Walls and floors near expansion joints or other vibration-prone RCC
- Fixing light-coloured, translucent or thin marble and natural stone slabs
- Bathroom, kitchen and other wet-area wall and floor tiling
- Glass mosaic and light ceramic/porcelain tiling where a grey adhesive would shadow through
- Feature walls and skirtings in premium residential and hospitality interiors
Key advantages
- Deformable set absorbs thermal and minor structural movement instead of stressing the tile-substrate bond
- White base avoids the discolouration or shadow-through that grey adhesive causes on light or translucent tiles
- Gel-type, thixotropic consistency clings to vertical surfaces, suited to cladding and wall work
- Extended open time gives tilers a longer working window, useful on hot NCR sites
- Weather-resistant cured bond suited to sun- and rain-exposed external applications
- No-hollowness application profile when applied correctly, reducing drummy-tile callbacks
- Wide tile compatibility — vitrified, ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite and natural stone
- UltraTech’s pan-India distribution makes touch-up bags easy to source mid-project
Limitations & considerations
- Not sized for large-format (600mm+) porcelain slabs or heavy natural stone — UltraTech’s own X’TRAPLUS-grade Tilefixo variants are built for that higher-deformability, higher-bond duty
- Costs more per bag than standard grey CT-grade adhesive, so using it on ordinary interior ceramic floor tiling is an avoidable spend where a basic adhesive would do
- Roughly an hour’s pot life means mixed batches must be used briskly in Delhi summer heat; skinned or over-mixed material should be discarded, not retempered with water
- Its flexibility compensates for substrate movement, not for poor substrate prep — curing time, moisture content and flatness of the base still have to be right
- Bond performance still depends on trowel-notch size and back-buttering technique, so inconsistent site application can under-deliver on the product’s potential
- Public manufacturer literature is thin on numeric coverage rates and full IS/EN classification detail, so site teams should confirm current batch specifics against the physical TDS/pack before large orders
Selection & best practice
Mix only what the tiling crew can place within the pot life — roughly an hour under normal Delhi NCR conditions, less in peak summer — and let the paste slake for a few minutes before the final stir. For external cladding, large tiles, marble or natural stone, back-butter the tile as well as combing the substrate, using a notch size matched to the tile format so contact is full and hollow-free. Beat tiles in firmly within the open time, and wherever the wall or floor is genuinely subject to movement — near expansion joints, on parapets, over old flooring — carry that flexibility through with a matching flexible grout rather than a rigid cementitious one.

Industry use cases
Residential façade & cladding
Vitrified or stone cladding tiles on external walls where day-night temperature swings would crack a rigid-set adhesive.
Renovation / tile-on-tile
Relaying vitrified or ceramic tiles directly over sound existing flooring without breaking out the old tile bed.
Terraces & podium decks
Sun- and rain-exposed terrace tiling where weather resistance and flexibility both matter.
Premium interiors
Light marble, glass mosaic or thin porcelain feature walls where a white adhesive avoids shadow-through at joints.

How we position UltraTech Tilefixo Ultima White
Within UltraTech’s own Tilefixo family, Ultima White sits between the everyday interior-grade adhesives — fine for routine ceramic and vitrified floor work — and the top-tier X’TRAPLUS White grade built for large-format porcelain, big marble slabs and glass mosaic; where a Space Arc site is specifying one of those larger formats, we’ll usually steer the BOQ toward X’TRAPLUS instead and reserve Ultima White for cladding, tile-on-tile and vibration-prone duty. Fosroc doesn’t play in this category at all — its India range is built around waterproofing, concrete repair, grouts/anchors and structural strengthening rather than retail tile adhesives — so for a genuine alternative outside the UltraTech range, the credible comparisons are MYK Laticrete, Pidilite’s Roff, Bal Endura or Weber, each offering a comparable deformable white adhesive. On UltraTech-standardised projects we default to Tilefixo Ultima White for supply-chain and warranty consistency with the rest of the tiling and waterproofing package.
