What is it?

A single-component, white-cement tile adhesive from STP, made from white cement, graded silica and polymers, designed so it never shadows through pale marble or stone.

Where is it used?

Interior and semi-exposed walls and floors where marble, travertine, limestone, light onyx or large white porcelain is being fixed to concrete, plaster or screed.

Why use it?

Ordinary grey adhesive telegraphs a dull shadow through thin, translucent light stone. A white bed keeps the finished marble looking clean and its true colour.

How is it applied?

Mixed with clean water to a lump-free paste, spread and combed with a notched trowel, then the tile is pressed and beaten in within the open time.

About STP ShaliTile Fix 300 (White)

STP ShaliTile Fix 300 (White) is the white-cement member of STP Limited’s ShaliTile Fix adhesive range, built for one job that grey adhesives quietly get wrong: fixing pale, translucent stone. It is a single-component, factory pre-packed mortar of white cement, closely graded silica and polymer additives. On site you add only clean water. The polymers give it far more grab and flexibility than a plain sand-cement screed bed, while the white base means that even where a slab of marble is thin enough to let light through, no grey shadow shows on the face.

Within STP’s ladder it sits above the entry-level ShaliTile Fix 100 (a Type 2 / C1T general adhesive) and alongside the marble-and-stone tier of the family, the same tier occupied by the grey ShaliTile Fix 300. For engineers and contractors in Delhi NCR and across India, the practical value is simple: one product that handles marble, granite, natural and reconstituted stone and large-format porcelain, with the colour discipline that premium light-stone work demands. Space Arc Engineering supplies it as an authorised STP distributor and applicator, so the material comes with correct-batch stock and application guidance rather than as an anonymous bag.

The technical insight

The reason a white adhesive matters is optical, not decorative. Marble, travertine and light onyx are partly translucent; on thin slabs, some daylight passes into the stone, hits the bedding layer and reflects back. A grey cement bed absorbs that light and reads as a muddy shadow across the tile face, so a wall of white marble ends up looking patchy and grey-cast. A white-cement bed reflects the light back cleanly, and the stone keeps its true tone. Underneath that, the polymer modification is doing the structural work. Dispersible polymer powders in the mix form a flexible film as the mortar cures, which wets the low-porosity back of dense marble and vitrified porcelain far better than plain cement, lifts the tensile bond well past a basic bed, and absorbs the small differential movements between a rigid slab and its substrate. The graded silica controls the mix so it stays open and workable long enough to comb, bed and adjust the tile, then hydrates to a hard, water-resistant layer.

Where it is used

  • Fixing white and light-coloured marble on feature walls, lobbies and cladding
  • Bedding translucent stone such as onyx, travertine and light limestone where shadowing must be avoided
  • Large-format porcelain and rectified vitrified tiles on walls and floors
  • Granite and reconstituted/engineered stone in premium interiors
  • Reception areas, hotel lobbies, showrooms and residential foyers with pale stone finishes
  • Tile and stone work over concrete, cement plaster and levelled screeds
  • Semi-exposed balconies and passages using light stone (with correct falls and grouting)
  • Feature columns and pillar cladding in marble and light stone

Key advantages

  • White cement base eliminates grey show-through on thin, translucent marble and light stone
  • Polymer modification gives high bond strength on dense, low-absorption marble and porcelain
  • Single-component, factory pre-packed mix cuts site errors from field-batched mortar
  • Thin-bed application saves adhesive and reduces dead load versus thick sand-cement beds
  • Good open time lets the mason comb, place and adjust large slabs before it skins
  • Non-staining white bed protects the appearance of premium natural stone
  • Strong non-sag grab suits vertical marble cladding and large wall tiles
  • Backed by STP technical literature and Space Arc application support

Limitations & considerations

  • Not an epoxy adhesive, so it is not the pick for continuous chemical immersion or aggressive-chemical floors
  • White stone is unforgiving of dirty tools and coloured contaminants, so tools, water and buckets must be kept clean
  • Thin-bed adhesive corrects only minor unevenness; badly out-of-plane substrates need levelling first, not thick daubs
  • Cement-based chemistry needs a sound, cured, dust-free and dimensionally stable substrate to bond reliably
  • Very deep permanent water immersion (for example pool tanks and STPs) is better served by a purpose-classified C2 immersion-grade adhesive
  • Colour and non-staining benefit apply only when white grout and clean water are used alongside it

Selection & best practice

Start with a substrate that is structurally sound, cured, clean and free of laitance, oil, curing compound and dust; correct major undulations with a levelling render and let it cure before tiling, rather than trying to pack them out with adhesive. Add the powder to clean water (not water to powder), following STP’s stated ratio, and mix with a slow-speed paddle to a smooth, lump-free, non-slumping paste; let it stand briefly, then remix. Because this is a white product, keep buckets, trowels, water and hands clean, any grey contamination shows on pale stone. Comb the adhesive onto the substrate with the correct notched trowel for the tile size, keeping ridges in one direction, and for large or heavy marble slabs back-butter the tile as well to achieve near-full contact and avoid voids that later crack or hollow-sound. Bed each tile firmly and beat it in within the open time; if the surface has skinned over, scrape it off and re-comb fresh rather than fixing onto a dry film. Maintain uniform joints, keep the face clean as you go, and allow the manufacturer’s cure time before grouting, ideally with a matching white or light grout to preserve the finish.

Industry use cases

Hospitality & retail interiors

Hotel lobbies, showrooms and reception walls clad in white marble and light stone, where any grey shadow through the slab would spoil a premium finish.

Premium residential

Marble and light-stone flooring, feature walls and staircases in high-end homes and villas that demand a clean, true-colour stone surface.

Commercial & corporate

Large-format porcelain and light-stone cladding in corporate lobbies and atriums, fixed thin-bed for speed and reduced dead load.

Facade & column cladding

Vertical light-stone and marble cladding on columns and semi-exposed elevations that need strong non-sag grab and colour discipline.

Renovation & fit-out

Upgrading tired floors and walls with pale stone or big-format tiles over sound existing concrete and plaster substrates.

Frequently asked questions

Why use a white tile adhesive instead of ordinary grey?
Marble and light stone are partly translucent. On thin slabs a grey bed shows through as a dull shadow, so the finished stone looks patchy and grey-cast. A white-cement adhesive like ShaliTile Fix 300 (White) reflects light cleanly and keeps the stone’s true colour.
Can I use ShaliTile Fix 300 (White) for large-format porcelain and vitrified tiles?
Yes. Its polymer modification gives strong adhesion on dense, low-absorption tiles, and thin-bed fixing suits big-format porcelain. For large or heavy pieces, back-butter the tile as well as combing the substrate to get near-full contact.
What is the difference between the white Fix 300 and the grey ShaliTile Fix 300?
They share the same marble-and-stone performance tier. The white version uses white cement so it does not shadow through pale, translucent stone; the grey version is the economical choice where the stone is opaque or dark and colour bleed is not a concern.
Which substrates can it be applied over?
Sound, cured, clean concrete, cement plaster and levelled cementitious screed or render. The surface must be free of dust, oil, laitance and curing compound, and reasonably flat, thin-bed adhesive is not meant to pack out large undulations.
Is it suitable for continuously submerged areas like swimming pools or water tanks?
For light-stone work in normally damp interiors it performs well. For continuous deep immersion such as pool tanks, a purpose-classified immersion-grade C2 adhesive is the more appropriate specification, our team can advise on the right STP option.
Do I need special grout with it?
To keep the non-staining benefit, use a matching white or light grout and clean water throughout. A grey or coloured grout on white marble would undo the whole point of choosing a white adhesive.

How we position STP ShaliTile Fix 300 (White)

ShaliTile Fix 300 (White) is the colour-safe choice within STP’s tile-fixing range for pale and translucent stone. Where the stone is opaque or dark and colour bleed is not a worry, the grey STP ShaliTile Fix 300 does the same structural job more economically. For lighter-duty ceramic and small-format work, STP ShaliTile Fix 100 (Type 2 / C1T) is the value option, while heavy, large-format and more demanding installations step up to STP ShaliTile Fix 400 (Type 4 / C2TES1). Pair any of these with STP’s ShaliTile epoxy or cementitious grouts to complete the system. Across Space Arc’s other brands, buyers comparing marble and stone adhesives also look at Fosroc’s Nitotile stone-and-marble grade and Dr. Fixit’s marble tile adhesive; our team can map the exact equivalent for a given specification and site condition.
