Sika Antisol S — Wax-Based Curing Compound for Concrete Surfaces

Sika Antisol S

Wax-Based Curing Compound for Concrete Surfaces

Authorized Project Distributor — Sika India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad

Product Overview

Sika Antisol S is a wax-based liquid curing compound that is spray-applied to freshly placed concrete surfaces immediately after finishing. It forms a temporary, impermeable wax membrane that retains the mixing water within the concrete, preventing premature evaporation that would otherwise cause incomplete cement hydration, surface crazing, plastic shrinkage cracking, and reduced surface strength. Proper curing is one of the most critical yet frequently neglected steps in concrete construction, and Sika Antisol S provides a reliable, efficient, and economical alternative to wet burlap or polythene sheet curing. Once concrete has achieved adequate strength, the wax membrane eventually weathers away, or can be removed mechanically before application of coatings or floor systems. Space Arc Engineering distributes Sika Antisol S for concrete floor slab, bridge deck, and structural concrete curing across Delhi NCR and UP.

Applications

  • Curing of fresh concrete floor slabs immediately after power floating
  • Bridge deck and highway pavement curing
  • Structural concrete element curing — columns, walls, beams
  • Precast concrete element curing in yard
  • Concrete repair mortar curing to ensure proper strength development
  • Hot weather concrete curing to combat rapid evaporation in Indian summers

Key Advantages

  • Forms effective moisture-retaining membrane instantly
  • Prevents plastic shrinkage cracking from premature evaporation
  • Eliminates need for wet hessian, polythene, and labor-intensive wet curing
  • Spray-applied — fast and uniform coverage across large areas
  • Significant cost saving over traditional wet curing methods
  • Degrades naturally or removes mechanically before floor coatings

Frequently Asked Questions

When exactly should Sika Antisol S be applied after concrete placing?

Sika Antisol S should be applied immediately after the final finishing operation — typically within 15–30 minutes of finishing, before the concrete surface starts to dry. In hot weather or windy conditions, apply even sooner to prevent evaporation-induced plastic shrinkage. Apply as a fine, even mist to avoid pooling.

Does Sika Antisol S need to be removed before applying floor coatings?

Yes. Before applying epoxy, polyurethane, or other resin floor coatings, the Sika Antisol S curing membrane must be mechanically removed by grinding or shot blasting to expose a clean concrete surface. Failure to remove the wax layer will prevent adhesion of the floor coating system.

Can Sika Antisol S be used in covered or enclosed areas?

Yes. Sika Antisol S is water-based and has very low VOC content, making it suitable for use in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas. It is odour-free at application and safe for normal construction site conditions.
