MC-RocTec R is a factory-premixed rapid-setting polymer-modified Portland cement-based repair mortar manufactured by MC-Bauchemie for structural and semi-structural concrete repair where early strength development is required to minimise the time between repair completion and reopening to traffic or service loading. The rapid-setting performance is achieved through rapid-hardening cement combined with proprietary chemical accelerators incorporated at the factory, producing a mortar that achieves initial set in 15 to 30 minutes and compressive strength of 15 to 20 MPa within 2 to 4 hours at 20 to 25 degrees C — sufficient for foot traffic and light vehicle access — rising to 30 to 40 MPa at 24 hours and exceeding 45 MPa at 28 days. This early strength profile is critical for bridge deck repair on Delhi NCR flyovers and national highways, where the repair window is limited to 4 to 8 hours per day on major routes. For conventional Portland cement repair mortars, the minimum time to traffic opening is 24 to 72 hours — incompatible with the short closure windows on busy Delhi infrastructure.
